Hands-on experience in the negotiation and settlement of maritime-related claims and charter party disputes, including, but not limited to, vessel damage, cargo shortage & cargo damage claims, crew matters, stowaways, groundings, collision, and damage to fixed and floating objects, speed & performance claims, etc. As well as Charterers’ Liability issues, such as hull & machinery damage claims resulting from stevedore damage, mishandling of vessel’s gear, unsafe port/berth, off-spec bunkers, cargo stowage & cargo quality and quantity claims, letters of indemnity, etc.

1979- 1992: Served in ascending ranks as a deck officer on oil tankers, dry cargo and general cargo
vessels, and OBO carriers. Master Mariner’s certificate of competency for unlimited gross
tonnage and worldwide trading.
Qualifications:
2017: Advanced training Commercial Mediator, New York City Bar Association.
2012: Maritime Arbitrator of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators.
