Born 1956. Associate Professor of Maritime Business, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Before moving to academia spent 25 years with Alcoa Steamship Co., Inc. (Operations and Chartering Manager positions). Previous experience includes port agency manager with Lavino Shipping, vessel and terminal operations manager positions with Prudential Lines (container and LASH), and shore and licensed seagoing positions with Gulf Oil (clean and dirty tankers). Well versed in all phases of vessel and terminal operations, time chartering, voyage chartering, as well as sale and purchase, including vessel scrapping. Graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (B.S., Marine Transportation 1978), C.U.N.Y. Baruch College (M.B.A., International Business 1984), and Duquesne Law School (J.D., 1993).
