Vice President of Moran Towing Corp. Over 40 years of experience with tug and boat matters, emphasis on laytime and vetting issues.
Born in 1955. Graduate of St. John’s University, Queens, NY (B.A.) 1976. Began career with Moran Towing Corporation during summer vacations in 1974 and 1975. Full time employment with Moran in May of 1976, working aboard company tugs offshore and in New York Harbor. Earned USCG pilots license in 1979. Came ashore for Moran in 1980 at a very opportune time, as Moran was transitioning from predominantly a ship docking and towage company to an integrated marine transportation provider. Was at the forefront of Moran’s liquid and dry cargo acquisition program, over $500 million of newly constructed and acquired transportation assets added to the corporate portfolio during the course of a forty-five plus year career. Experienced in articulated (ATBs) and conventional tug/barge units, tanker and dry cargo operations and chartering, including charter party construction and towage agreements. With particular interest in laytime and demurrage issues. From 1991 through 2022 served as Vice President of Moran’s marine transportation division, responsible for all commercial operations for the transportation group.
Completed specialized marine courses from S.U.N.Y, Maritime College in the Transportation Master’s program.
