Has been independently consulting since March 2016, and is an active Council Member with GLG Research Group. Anne’s expertise in US domestic and foreign crude oil trading, comes from her 30+ years at Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director in the commodities department. During her time at Morgan Stanley she was instrumental in building their physical crude oil business, working closely with the sales and marketing desks within the commodities department as well as with the rest of the bank where crude oil expertise was called upon. She traded both paper swaps, futures and physical oil. This involved the supply of crude oil to refineries that were part of financing deals and traded a spec book in the US Domestic Basis market and Brent/WTI market based on research and arbitrage opportunities. Over the years she developed profitable trading strategies for West African and North Sea crude oil by developing longs and shorts to US and other global refining systems. She was involved in coordinating shipping logistics and collaborating with the freight department. She helped to identify refinery financing deals and pipeline inventory transactions working with the Structured Products Group as well as directly through her extensive relationships in the crude oil industry. Her career began at Cargill as an operations coordinator for the Petrochemical business and then as a operations coordinator in Crude Oil Trading which led to her becoming a trader in the early 80’s before moving to Morgan Stanley. She is a C.W. Post graduate, receiving their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2001.
