Currently Director of GJT Marine Consultants LLC providing risk management and maritime claims consultancy services for vessel owners, operators, charterers and insurers. Formerly Senior Vice President – Global Claims Director at Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc. (“SCB”), Manager of the American Steamship Owners Mutual Protection & Indemnity Association, Inc. (“American Club”) from 2007 until 2018. Was also General Counsel for SCB (2007 – 2018), FD&D Manager at the American Club (2002 – 2008), and Managing Director of Shipowners Claims Bureau (Hellas), Inc. (2005 – 2008), which was the American Club’s representative office in Piraeus, Greece. Involved in all aspects of P&I and FD&D insurances, as well as U.S. and international compliance matters at the American Club, including sanctions regulations, for over 16 years. Practiced maritime law in State and Federal Courts in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut from 1992 through 2002, primarily at Chalos & Brown, P.C. Experienced in charter party disputes, cargo claims, insurance contract / coverage disputes, commercial disputes, contracts of affreightment, collisions, pollution related matters, third party property damage, salvage, wreck removal and other maritime related claims, as well as sanctions related matters. Certificate in commercial mediation training through the New York City Bar Association and the SMA.
